Chris Brown, M.D. FACS

Dr. Chris Brown is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, has served the greater Memphis community since 2011, and has remained very active in vitreoretinal research. He has presented at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, The Cannes Retina Festival, and the Eye Study Club. Due to his research endeavors, Dr. Brown achieved the Rabb-Venable excellence in research award during the Rabb-Venable Ophthalmology Research Competition, through the National Medical Association. In addition, he holds the honor of being a Roman-Barnes Society of Ophthalmology Scholar through the National Medical Association. Dr. Brown is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS).  He is also an active member of the Tennessee chapter of ACS.  Through this organization Dr. Brown became and remains one of the founding members of the Tennessee chapter of the American College of Surgeons Task Force on Diversity and Inclusion in order to bring light to existing disparities for underrepresented minorities and to pioneer change. Dr. Brown’s principal areas of interest include diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular diseases, age related macular degeneration, traumatic eye injuries, repair of complex cataract and retinal surgeries, and repair of ophthalmic surgical complications.


In his spare time, Dr. Brown enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Christina Brown, and their five children Jordan, Carter, Ian, Cayden, and Christiana.  He also enjoys golf and traveling to faraway places on medical mission trips.
